Single-Currency Casinos Grow After US Sweepstakes Restrictions

A new single-currency casino model is expanding in US states where dual-currency sweepstakes platforms have been restricted.
Unlike traditional sweepstakes casinos, these sites use only one redeemable currency. Players buy digital products such as mystery boxes, collectible cards or poster packs, while redeemable coins are included as a promotional benefit. The coins can then be used on casino-style games and redeemed for cash after meeting playthrough requirements.
The model has gained attention in California and New York after both states introduced laws targeting dual-currency sweepstakes casinos. Operators have responded by launching new brands built around products rather than separate play-money and redeemable balances.
Brands currently using the model include Card Crush, ZumbaCards, Amazon Jackpots Posters and Spinsly Posters. Card Crush and ZumbaCards operate in 48 states, excluding Nevada and Washington, while the two poster brands are available only in California and New York.
The legal status of the model remains untested. As of late September 2026, no state regulator or attorney general had publicly taken action against the main single-currency brands named in the report.
